Desert Of The Real
Have a question about this piece?
Louis Bowes is a collage artist based in the North-East of England who works with familiar subjects such as architecture, nature and the human form.
He works his source imagery into semi-abstract forms by playing with scale and context, which emphasise a human emotional response to the physical environment.
The result is striking and powerful imagery which conveys a sense of isolation and disconnection from tangible modernity, and the seeming loss of meaning in everyday life. Louis Bowes’s world is a poignant, but beautiful, dystopian vision.
