Scottish Artist Fi Douglas creates beautiful abstract watercolour paintings all in her distinctive colour palette.
"My colour palette is something instinctive. I don’t think too much about it, it’s just something that comes out naturally from the colours I love. There are certain combinations that I am always drawn to – blues, turquoises and pinks usually feature somewhere. The blues definitely stem from a love of the sea and blue skies, and I’ve always adored pink. In the early days it was a more difficult sell, people were a bit scared of pink, but with it being Pantone’s colour of 2016, people are much more comfortable with pink these days, which is really nice."

Monte Carlo 300gsm watercolour paper. This premium paper made on a traditional cylinder mould machine by St Cuthbert’s Mill in Somerset where they have been making fine papers on the same site since the 1700’s. They are the only commercial paper mill in England to still use this paper-making process. Mould made paper combines the consistent quality of machine made papers, but with the individual character of handmade papers. A specialist coater adds an ink receptive coating layer, allowing us to print perfectly to conservation standards.
